Cathedral Sanctuario de Guadalupe
Dallas, Texas
Alternative site development plans for
the redevelopment of an existing site immediately adjacent to
the existing historic cathedral in the Dallas Arts District.
Portions of the building were to be constructed on top of the
underground parking garage constructed some eight years earlier,
designed as the foundation for a thirty four story office building.
Initial plans called for a new parish Hall capable of seating
500 plus people, as many as seventeen new classrooms and administrative
space for at least twelve staff members, totally approximately
41,000 square feet. Plans included provision for the expansion
of the school to another level, and the addition of a Chapel
or Exhibition Hall as part of the Arts District public accommodations
requirements. The final design included 35,000 square feet, with
the administration area moved to the basement level under the
Parish Hall, and completion of the seventeen classrooms.
